Description

Indulge in the delicious flavors of fall with this Glazed Apple Fritter Bread. It’s a moist and flavorful quick bread packed with diced apples, cinnamon, and a sweet glaze. Perfect for breakfast or as a snack with a cup of coffee.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread:

  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup whole milk

Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9×5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon; set aside. Toss the diced apples with 1-2 teaspoons of the cinnamon sugar mixture in another bowl; set aside.
  3. Prepare Batter: Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar. Add eggs, vanilla extract, flour, and baking powder gradually alternating with milk until just combined.
  4. Layer and Swirl: Pour half of the batter into the pan, top with half of the apple mixture and cinnamon sugar. Repeat layers. Gently swirl with a knife.
  5. Bake: Bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  6. Make Glaze: Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over the cooled bread and let it set before slicing.
