Description

These Goat Cheese and Honey Bites are a delightful combination of creamy goat cheese, sweet honey, and flaky puff pastry. Perfect for entertaining or as a savory snack, these bites are easy to make and full of flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Puff Pastry:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

Cheese Filling:

  • 4 oz goat cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese (optional for extra creaminess)
  • 2 tablespoons honey (plus more for drizzling)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Additional:

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts or pistachios (optional)
  • fresh thyme or rosemary for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare pastry: Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 12 small squares or circles.
  3. Make filling: In a bowl, mix goat cheese, cream cheese (if using), honey, and black pepper until smooth.
  4. Fill pastry: Place a small spoonful of the cheese mixture in the center of each puff pastry square. Fold corners up slightly or leave open-faced for a rustic look.
  5. Brush with egg wash: Whisk the egg with water and brush edges of the pastry with the egg wash.
  6. Bake: Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  7. Finish: Let cool slightly, then drizzle with extra honey and sprinkle with chopped nuts and herbs if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Perfect as an appetizer or party bite.
  • You can prep these ahead and bake just before serving.
  • For a savory twist, add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes or caramelized onions to the filling.
