Fresh Green Beans:
- 1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
Creamy Mushroom Sauce:
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
Optional Additions:
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 1/3 cups crispy fried onions
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Prepare Green Beans: If using fresh green beans, blanch them in boiling salted water for 5 minutes, then drain and rinse.
- Mix Sauce: In a bowl, combine mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, pepper, salt, green beans, and 2/3 cup fried onions. Add cheese if desired.
- Bake: Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish. Bake for 25 minutes, then top with remaining fried onions and bake for additional 5–10 minutes until golden.
- Serve: Serve hot and enjoy!
