Pasta:
- 12 ounces pasta (penne or rigatoni)
Beef Mixture:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook Pasta: Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Cook Beef Mixture: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and diced onion until browned. Add garlic, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Stir in marinara sauce, season, and remove from heat. Stir in sour cream and cooked pasta.
- Assemble and Bake: Pour half of the pasta mixture into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Top with remaining pasta and cheeses. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
- Serve: Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
