Cake:
- 1 cup Guinness stout
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

Frosting:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
- Melt Guinness and butter: In a saucepan, combine Guinness and butter over medium heat until butter is melted. Whisk in cocoa powder until smooth.
- Mix wet and dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk sugar, sour cream, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in the Guinness mixture. Sift in flour, baking soda, and salt, fold gently until just combined.
- Bake: Pour batter into pan, bake for 45–50 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan.
- Make frosting: Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Whip cream and vanilla until soft peaks form, fold into cream cheese. Spread over cake.
