  • 2 cups unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine almond milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and black pepper. Whisk well to blend the spices.
  2. Heat over medium heat until steaming hot but not boiling, about 5–7 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  3. Remove from heat and add honey or maple syrup and vanilla extract if using. Whisk again until frothy.
  4. Pour into mugs and serve warm.

Notes

  • Black pepper helps increase the absorption of curcumin, the active compound in turmeric.
