Cookies:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Decoration:
- 4 ounces semisweet or dark chocolate, chopped
- 1/3 cup finely chopped nuts (almonds or hazelnuts)
- Black and white icing or mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat and Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix Dough: Cream butter and powdered sugar, add vanilla, then mix in flour and salt to form a soft dough.
- Shape Cookies: Form small ovals from dough, place on baking sheet, and bake for 12–15 minutes until lightly golden.
- Decorate: Melt chocolate, dip cookie ends, coat with nuts, and add eyes and nose with icing or chocolate chips.
- Set and Serve: Allow chocolate to set before serving or storing.
