  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (cut into small pieces)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sugar (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare Cherry Filling: Combine cherries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, almond extract, and cinnamon in a saucepan. Cook until thickened.
