- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (cut into small pieces)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon coarse sugar (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare Cherry Filling: Combine cherries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, almond extract, and cinnamon in a saucepan. Cook until thickened.
