Main Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

- 1 cup long-grain white rice

- 2 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Melt Butter and Olive Oil: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter with the olive oil over medium heat.
- Cook Onion and Garlic: Add the diced onion and cook until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Add Rice and Orzo: Add rice (and orzo, if using) and cook until lightly toasted.
- Pour Broth and Season: Pour in the chicken broth, season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then simmer.
- Simmer: Cover and simmer for 15-18 minutes until rice is tender.
- Rest and Serve: Remove from heat, let it sit covered for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.
