Potato Mixture:
- 2 pounds russet potatoes (peeled)
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
For Frying or Baking:
- Vegetable oil for frying or brushing (if baking)
Instructions
- Parboil Potatoes: Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add peeled potatoes and parboil for 6–7 minutes. Drain and let cool. Grate the cooled potatoes.
- Prepare Tater Tots: Squeeze out excess moisture from potatoes. Mix with flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese if using.
- Form Tater Tots: Shape the mixture into small cylinders. Fry in hot oil until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- To Bake: Preheat oven, place tots on a baking sheet, brush with oil, and bake until crisp.

- Tater tots can be frozen after shaping for future use.
