Chocolate Coating:
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Shortbread: In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, butter, sugar, and salt until a soft dough forms. Press the dough into the prepared pan and bake for 18 to 20 minutes until golden.
- Make the Caramel Filling: Melt the caramel candies with heavy cream in the microwave, then pour over the cooled shortbread crust.
- Chill: Refrigerate for 30 minutes to set. Cut into squares.
- Coat with Chocolate: Melt chocolate chips with coconut oil, dip each square, and refrigerate until set.
