Caramel Filling:

  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream

Chocolate Coating:

  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Shortbread: In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, butter, sugar, and salt until a soft dough forms. Press the dough into the prepared pan and bake for 18 to 20 minutes until golden.
  3. Make the Caramel Filling: Melt the caramel candies with heavy cream in the microwave, then pour over the cooled shortbread crust.
