Description

This Homemade Vanilla Cinnamon Milk Tea is a warm, comforting beverage that combines the robust flavor of black tea with the sweet aroma of vanilla and the spicy warmth of cinnamon. Perfect for a cozy morning or an afternoon pick-me-up, this easy-to-make drink can be customized with your choice of dairy or non-dairy milk and sweetened naturally with honey or maple syrup.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea Base

  • 2 black tea bags (or 2 teaspoons loose leaf black tea)
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Milk Mixture

  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Garnish (Optional)

  • Cinnamon stick

Instructions

  1. Boil the Water and Brew Tea: In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the black tea bags or loose leaf tea and let it steep for 4 to 5 minutes to extract rich flavor.
  2. Remove Tea Leaves: Remove the tea bags or strain out the loose leaf tea to prevent over-brewing and bitterness.
  3. Add Milk and Sweeteners: Reduce the heat to low and stir in the milk, honey or maple syrup, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Whisk gently to combine all ingredients fully.
  4. Heat Without Boiling: Warm the mixture until heated through but do not let it boil to preserve the creaminess and flavor.
  5. Serve and Garnish: Pour the milk tea into mugs and serve immediately. Optionally, garnish with a cinnamon stick or a light sprinkle of cinnamon on top for added aroma and visual appeal.

Notes

  • For a frothier drink, whisk vigorously or use a milk frother just before serving.
  • You can also serve it over ice for a refreshing iced version.
  • Adjust the sweetness and cinnamon level to your preference.
  • Using full-fat milk will create a richer flavor, but any milk type works well.
