Description

Tender sirloin steak cubes seared to perfection and coated in a luscious honey garlic glaze, accented with a hint of soy sauce and a touch of red pepper flakes for a subtle kick. This quick and flavorful dish makes a perfect appetizer or main course for any weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak Bites

  • 1 lb (450g) sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided

Sauce

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season and Sear: Season the sirloin steak cubes generously with salt and black pepper. Heat 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the steak cubes in batches to avoid overcrowding, cooking them for 2–3 minutes on each side until they develop a delicious browned crust. Remove the seared steak bites from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Prepare Sauce: Reduce the heat to medium. Add the remaining tablespoon of butter to the skillet and melt it. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned. Stir in the honey, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes if using. Let the sauce simmer gently for 1–2 minutes until it thickens slightly and becomes glossy.
  3. Combine and Finish: Return the seared steak bites back to the skillet with the sauce. Toss them well to coat evenly in the rich honey garlic glaze. Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes to let the flavors meld and the steak warm through.
  4. Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from heat. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the steak bites to add a touch of color and freshness. Serve immediately while hot for the best flavor experience.

Notes

  • Make sure not to overcrowd the pan when searing the steak cubes to ensure proper browning.
  • Adjust the red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level or omit them for a milder dish.
  • Serve these steak bites as an appetizer or alongside rice or vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Use a good quality soy sauce for better depth of flavor.
  • Can be made gluten-free by using gluten-free soy sauce.
