Ground Beef Mixture:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Sauce:
- 1 (15-ounce) can diced tomatoes (with juice)
- 1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon paprika (preferably Hungarian)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Additional:
- 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare Ground Beef Mixture: Heat olive oil in Instant Pot, sauté beef and onion until browned. Add garlic and cook.
- Add Sauce: Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, broth, Worcestershire sauce, spices. Add macaroni, pressure cook.
- Finish: Quick release pressure, stir goulash. Optionally add cheddar, let thicken, and garnish with parsley.
Notes
- Use smoked paprika for a deeper flavor.
- Ground turkey or sausage can be substituted for beef.
- This dish freezes well and makes great leftovers.
