These Italian Sub Squares are a delicious twist on the classic sub sandwich. Layers of deli meats and cheeses are baked between crescent roll dough with a flavorful egg mixture, creating a savory and satisfying appetizer.

Crescent Roll Layers:
- 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
Filling:
- 1/4 pound sliced deli ham
- 1/4 pound sliced Genoa salami
- 1/4 pound sliced pepperoni
- 1/4 pound sliced provolone cheese
- 1/4 pound sliced mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup sliced pepperoncini or banana peppers (optional)
Egg Mixture:
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Layer crescent dough: Unroll one can of crescent dough and press it into the bottom of the dish, sealing the seams.
- Add fillings: Layer with ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone, mozzarella, and peppers if using.
- Prepare egg mixture: In a small bowl, beat the eggs with Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Pour evenly over the layers.
- Top with dough: Top with the second can of crescent dough, pinching seams and pressing edges to seal.
- Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and set. Let cool, slice into squares, and serve.

- This dish can be made ahead and served cold or reheated.
- Add sliced black olives or roasted red peppers for variety.
