Ingredients
Scale
Eggs and Filling
- 6 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons cream cheese (softened)
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Mix-ins
- 2 tablespoons cooked and crumbled bacon
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped pickled jalapeños
- 2 tablespoons shredded cheddar cheese
Garnish (Optional)
- Chopped chives or parsley
- Paprika
Instructions
- Boil the eggs: Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with cold water. Bring the water to a boil, then cover the pan and remove it from heat. Let the eggs sit for 10–12 minutes to cook through.
- Cool and peel: Transfer the eggs to an ice bath to stop the cooking process and cool them down completely. Once cooled, carefully peel the eggs to remove the shells.
- Prepare the eggs: Slice each egg in half lengthwise and gently remove the yolks. Place the yolks into a mixing bowl.
- Make the filling: Mash the yolks with cream cheese, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and salt until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Add mix-ins: Fold in the cooked bacon, finely chopped pickled jalapeños, and shredded cheddar cheese evenly into the yolk mixture.
- Fill the egg whites: Spoon or pipe the creamy filling back into the hollowed egg white halves, distributing evenly.
- Garnish and serve: Optionally, garnish the filled eggs with chopped chives or parsley and a light sprinkle of paprika. Serve the deviled eggs chilled for best flavor.
Notes
- Adjust heat level by adding more or fewer jalapeños, or swap pickled for fresh jalapeños to increase spice.
- For a smokier flavor, use smoked paprika instead of regular paprika or add a pinch of chipotle powder to the filling.
- These deviled eggs work great for game day, holiday gatherings, or as party appetizers.
- Make ahead and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before serving to enhance flavor.
