Meat Sauce:

  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara or spaghetti sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (undrained)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Layers:

  • 9 oven-ready lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Garnish:

  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook Meat: Brown ground beef or sausage in a skillet. Drain excess fat. Add marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, seasonings, and simmer.
  3. Layer: Spread meat sauce in the baking dish. Layer noodles, cheeses, and repeat. Top with remaining cheese.
  4. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes until golden.
  5. Rest and Serve: Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with parsley if desired.
