Meat Sauce:
- 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara or spaghetti sauce
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (undrained)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Layers:
- 9 oven-ready lasagna noodles
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Garnish:
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook Meat: Brown ground beef or sausage in a skillet. Drain excess fat. Add marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, seasonings, and simmer.
- Layer: Spread meat sauce in the baking dish. Layer noodles, cheeses, and repeat. Top with remaining cheese.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes until golden.
- Rest and Serve: Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with parsley if desired.
