Scale
Vanilla Black Tea Infusion
- 400ml filtered water
- 2–3 tsp Sirocco vanilla black tea (or any quality vanilla black tea blend)
Homemade Lemonade
- 15g sugar
- 200ml warm water (for dissolving sugar)
- 50g fresh lemon juice (about 1 large lemon)
To Serve
- Ice cubes
- Fresh lemon slices (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Vanilla Black Tea: In a jar or container, combine 2-3 teaspoons of vanilla black tea with 400ml filtered water. Stir gently to mix, then cover and refrigerate for several hours or overnight to allow the tea to infuse thoroughly and develop its rich vanilla flavor.
- Make the Homemade Lemonade: In a small bowl or measuring jug, dissolve 15g sugar into 200ml warm water by stirring well until fully dissolved. Allow the sugar-water mixture to cool to room temperature before adding 50g freshly squeezed lemon juice. Stir to combine thoroughly, creating a balanced, tangy lemonade base.
- Assemble the Drink: Fill a glass with a generous handful of ice cubes to chill the drink. Pour about 150ml (or to taste) of the homemade lemonade over the ice. Add fresh lemon slices if you prefer an extra burst of citrus aroma and flavor.
- Add the Vanilla Black Tea: Top up the glass with the chilled vanilla black tea infusion prepared earlier. Stir gently to combine the lemonade and the tea, ensuring a harmonious blend of sweet, tart, and aromatic vanilla flavors, perfect for a refreshing iced tea experience.
Notes
- Refrigerating the tea overnight enhances the depth of flavor and smoothness of the vanilla notes.
- Adjust sugar quantity in the lemonade to suit your preferred sweetness level.
- Use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the brightest and freshest taste.
- For a stronger tea flavor, increase the tea quantity slightly or steep longer before chilling.
- This recipe serves 2 and can be easily doubled for larger gatherings.
