- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
14 oz extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed
Instructions
- Press the tofu: Press the tofu for at least 15 minutes to remove excess water, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
- Prepare marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, maple syrup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes if using. Add the tofu cubes and toss to coat evenly.
- Add cornstarch: Sprinkle the cornstarch over the tofu and gently mix until all pieces are lightly coated.
- Cook tofu: Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions before serving.

- For extra flavor, marinate the tofu for up to 30 minutes before cooking.
