  • 1–2 teaspoons milk (as needed for consistency)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Prepare dough: In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter, sugars until light and fluffy. Add egg, maple syrup, vanilla, and maple extract (if using). Gradually add dry ingredients, mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Bake: Scoop dough into balls, place on baking sheet, bake for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden. Cool on sheet, then transfer to wire rack.
  5. Make glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and salt until smooth.
