Description

Indulge in the delightful flavors of matcha with these chewy and soft Matcha Cookies. The earthy notes of green tea combined with white chocolate chips make these cookies a unique and delicious treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon matcha green tea powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Additional:

  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream the butter and sugars: In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add wet ingredients: Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.
  5. Combine dry and wet ingredients: Gradually stir in the dry ingredients until a soft dough forms. Fold in the white chocolate chips if using.
  6. Bake: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until the edges are set and centers are still soft.
  7. Cool and enjoy: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
