Sauce:

  • 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Garnish and Serving:

  • 3 green onions (sliced)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
  • Cooked white rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Coat Chicken: Toss the chicken pieces with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  2. Sear Chicken: Heat oil in a skillet, sear chicken until golden and crispy. Set aside.
  3. Prepare Sauce: Sauté garlic and ginger, add soy sauce, water, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes. Simmer until thickened.
