- vegetable oil for frying
For the Nashville Hot Sauce:
- 1/2 cup frying oil (from the chicken)
- 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken: Whisk buttermilk and hot sauce in a bowl. Marinate chicken in the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
- Coat the Chicken: Mix flour, salt, pepper, and paprika in a dish. Dredge marinated chicken in flour mixture and let it rest.
- Fry the Chicken: Heat oil, fry chicken until golden and cooked through.
