Ingredients

For the Macarons:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup almond flour
  • 2 large egg whites, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A few drops brown or cocoa-colored food coloring (optional)

For the Filling:

  • 1/2 cup Nutella

For the Drizzle:

  • 2 tablespoons Nutella
  • 1 teaspoon milk (to thin, if needed)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Macarons: Line baking sheets. Pulse powdered sugar and almond flour, sift. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar. Add sugar to stiff peaks. Fold in vanilla and food coloring. Pipe rounds onto sheets.
  2. Bake: Preheat oven and bake for 14–16 minutes. Cool.
  3. Fill: Pipe Nutella onto half the shells and sandwich.
  4. Drizzle: Microwave Nutella, stir in milk, drizzle over macarons. Let set.
