Ingredients
For the Chicken:
1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 cup cornstarch
2 large eggs, beaten
vegetable oil for frying
For the Orange Sauce:
1/2 cup fresh orange juice
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 tablespoon orange zest
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
2 green onions, sliced
sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper. Dip in beaten eggs, then coat in cornstarch. Fry in oil until golden brown.
- Make the Orange Sauce: Combine orange juice, soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and zest in a saucepan. Thicken with cornstarch slurry.
