Ingredients
Scale
Fudge Base
- 2½ cups white chocolate chips
- 1 jar (7 oz) marshmallow creme
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ⅔ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup unsalted butter, cut into cubes
Flavoring
- 1 (3 oz) box orange gelatin (Jell-O)
- 1 teaspoon orange extract (optional for stronger flavor)
- Orange food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang to easily lift out the fudge after it sets.
- Heat Mixture: In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar, heavy cream, and cubed butter. Stir constantly to blend the ingredients and prevent burning until the mixture comes to a boil.
- Boil Mixture: Continue boiling the mixture gently for 4 to 5 minutes while stirring often to ensure it thickens slightly and the sugar fully dissolves.
- Add Remaining Ingredients: Remove the saucepan from heat. Immediately stir in the white chocolate chips, marshmallow creme, orange gelatin, and orange extract if using. Mix thoroughly until completely smooth and uniform.
- Color the Fudge: If you want a more vibrant orange hue, add a few drops of orange food coloring and stir until evenly distributed.
- Pour and Smooth: Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan. Use a spatula to smooth the top evenly for a clean finish.
- Cool and Set: Let the fudge cool at room temperature for 2 hours to begin firming up, then transfer it to the refrigerator for at least 1 additional hour to fully set and become sliceable.
- Cut and Serve: Once the fudge is firm, lift it out of the pan using the parchment overhang. Cut into approximately 36 small squares and enjoy.
Notes
- Store the fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks to maintain freshness.
- This fudge is perfect for seasonal spring and summer parties as well as nostalgic dessert tables.
