Description

Peach Hibiscus Sunset Tea is a refreshing and vibrant iced tea combining the floral tartness of hibiscus with the juicy sweetness of ripe peaches. This bright, colorful drink is perfect for hot summer days, offering a serene and uplifting experience with each sip. Sweetened naturally with honey or agave and enhanced with fresh lemon juice, it serves as an ideal non-alcoholic beverage or a versatile base for cocktails.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea Base

  • 4 cups water
  • 2 hibiscus tea bags

Fruit and Sweetener

  • 2 ripe peaches, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

To Serve

  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil Water: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan to prepare the tea infusion.
  2. Steep Hibiscus Tea: Remove the saucepan from heat and steep the two hibiscus tea bags in the hot water for 8-10 minutes to extract the rich floral flavor and color.
  3. Sweeten Tea: Remove the tea bags and stir in 2 tablespoons of honey or agave syrup until fully dissolved, balancing the tartness with natural sweetness.
  4. Cool Tea & Add Lemon: Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then stir in 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice for a bright, citrusy accent.
  5. Combine With Peaches: In a large pitcher, combine the cooled hibiscus tea with 2 thinly sliced ripe peaches, allowing the fruits to infuse their juicy taste.
  6. Chill & Infuse: Refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld beautifully.
  7. Serve: Serve the tea over ice cubes, garnished with fresh mint leaves if desired, for an extra refreshing aroma and presentation.

Notes

  • For a sparkling version, substitute half of the water with sparkling water just before serving for a fizzy twist.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey/agave syrup according to taste preferences.
  • Using frozen peach slices instead of fresh not only chills the drink further but also helps prevent dilution from melting ice cubes.
