Description

Pecan Pie Brownies combine the rich, fudgy texture of classic brownies with the sweet, nutty topping of a traditional pecan pie. This easy-to-make dessert layers a luscious pecan pie filling over a boxed brownie base, resulting in a decadent treat perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Base

  • 1 box Brownie mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)

Pecan Pie Topping

  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups pecans, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare pan. Preheat your oven to 350ºF (175ºC) and lightly grease a 9×9-inch baking pan to prevent sticking.
  2. Make brownie batter. Prepare the brownie mix according to the package directions, combining all required ingredients. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  3. Prepare pecan pie filling. In a bowl, whisk together the melted butter, packed brown sugar, all-purpose flour, light corn syrup, vanilla extract, and eggs until well combined. Stir in the chopped pecans thoroughly.
  4. Assemble the layers. Carefully spoon the pecan pie mixture over the uncooked brownie batter in the pan, spreading it evenly for uniform coverage.
  5. Bake the brownies. Bake the combined layers in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until the pecan topping is set and a toothpick inserted into the brownie layer comes out with only a few moist crumbs.
  6. Cool and serve. Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting into 12 or 16 squares to serve.

Notes

  • Use a 9×9-inch pan to ensure proper baking and thickness.
  • Allow brownies to cool fully before cutting to prevent crumbling.
  • Chop pecans coarsely to maintain texture in the topping.
  • For extra gooey brownies, slightly underbake by 2-3 minutes.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
