Cake:
- 1 box butter pecan cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 4 large eggs
- 1 container (16 oz) coconut pecan frosting
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Praline Topping:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease/flour a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Mix cake batter: In a large bowl, combine cake mix, water, oil, and eggs. Beat until smooth. Fold in half of the frosting and 3/4 cup pecans.
- Bake: Pour batter into pan and bake for 35–40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Make praline topping: Melt butter in a saucepan, add sugar and cream. Simmer until thickened. Stir in vanilla.
- Top the cake: Pour warm praline topping over the cooled cake. Sprinkle remaining pecans on top.
- Serve: Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
