- 2 cups Nespresso coffee
- 1 teaspoon crushed candy canes
- 2 candy canes (for garnish)
Marshmallow Creamer
- 1/2 cup half & half cream (10%)
- 1/4 cup mini marshmallows
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
Peppermint Whipped Cream
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream (35%)
- 1 tablespoon icing sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
Instructions
- Brew Coffee: Brew 2 cups of Nespresso coffee and keep it hot for assembling the latte later.
- Heat Half & Half: Pour 1/2 cup of half & half cream into a pan and heat over medium heat until small bubbles form around the edges, indicating it’s warm but not boiling.
- Melt Marshmallows: Add 1/4 cup mini marshmallows to the warm half & half and whisk continuously until the marshmallows are fully melted and incorporated into a smooth creamer.
- Add Peppermint Extract: Stir in 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract into the melted marshmallow creamer and then remove the mixture from the heat.
- Whip Cream: In a separate bowl, whip 1/4 cup cold heavy whipping cream until it thickens slightly and soft peaks begin to form.
- Sweeten and Flavor Whipped Cream: Add 1 tablespoon icing sugar and 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract to the whipped cream, then continue whipping until it reaches your desired consistency, fluffy and stable.
- Assemble Latte: Pour the warm peppermint marshmallow creamer into the hot brewed coffee and mix gently.
- Top with Whipped Cream: Spoon the peppermint whipped cream on top of the latte for a rich and festive garnish.
- Garnish: Sprinkle 1 teaspoon crushed candy canes over the whipped cream and add a whole candy cane on the side or inside the cup for decoration and extra peppermint flavor.
