Bread:
- 2 slices sourdough or sandwich bread
Spread:
- 1 tablespoon butter (softened)
Pizza Toppings:
- 2 tablespoons pizza sauce
- 1/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 6–8 slices pepperoni
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Pinch of Italian seasoning or dried oregano
Instructions
- Spread Butter: Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
- Layer Ingredients: Lay one slice, buttered side down, in a skillet over medium heat. Spread pizza sauce over the top, then layer with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, Parmesan cheese if using, and a pinch of Italian seasoning. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
- Cook: Cook for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted. Slice and serve hot.
Notes
- Add sautéed mushrooms, green peppers, or olives for extra pizza flavor.
- Use marinara sauce if pizza sauce isn’t available.
