Fresh Pineapple Hot Sauce:

  • 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks
  • 6–8 habanero peppers, stemmed and seeded for less heat
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric (optional for color)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine pineapple, habaneros, onion, garlic, apple cider vinegar, lime juice, honey, salt, cumin, and turmeric. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 10–12 minutes until the peppers and onion are softened.
  2. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a blender and blend until completely smooth.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more honey for sweetness or vinegar for tang.
  5. Pour into sterilized glass bottles or jars. Refrigerate for up to 2 months.

Notes

  • This sauce is very spicy—wear gloves when handling habaneros.
  • For a milder version, reduce the number of habaneros or substitute with jalapeños.
