Main Soup:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 small head green cabbage (chopped)
  • 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 6 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup uncooked white rice
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat Olive Oil and Brown Meat: Heat olive oil in a large pot, brown ground beef and pork.
  2. Cook Aromatics: Add onion, garlic, and cook until softened.
  3. Add Ingredients: Stir in cabbage, tomatoes, tomato sauce, broth, rice, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings.
  4. Simmer: Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 25-30 minutes.
  5. Adjust Seasoning and Serve: Taste, adjust seasoning, garnish with parsley, and serve hot.

  • For a thicker soup, let it simmer uncovered for the last 10 minutes.
