Main Soup:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1 small onion (diced)
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 small head green cabbage (chopped)
- 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
- 6 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup uncooked white rice
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- salt and pepper to taste
- chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat Olive Oil and Brown Meat: Heat olive oil in a large pot, brown ground beef and pork.
- Cook Aromatics: Add onion, garlic, and cook until softened.
- Add Ingredients: Stir in cabbage, tomatoes, tomato sauce, broth, rice, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings.
- Simmer: Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 25-30 minutes.
- Adjust Seasoning and Serve: Taste, adjust seasoning, garnish with parsley, and serve hot.
Notes
- For a thicker soup, let it simmer uncovered for the last 10 minutes.
