Ingredients
Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Add-ins
- 1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles
Instructions
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, beat together the milk, large egg, melted unsalted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Combine Mixtures and Add Sprinkles: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined, taking care not to overmix. Then fold in the rainbow sprinkles evenly throughout the batter.
- Preheat and Prepare Cooking Surface: Heat a griddle or frying pan over medium heat and lightly grease it if necessary to prevent sticking.
- Create Heart Shapes: Place a heart-shaped pancake mold on the heated griddle. Pour the batter into the mold, filling it halfway to allow room for rising.
- Cook Pancakes: Cook until bubbles form on the surface of the pancake and the edges begin to set, then carefully flip the pancake and cook the other side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Repeat and Serve: Remove the mold and repeat the process with the remaining batter. Serve the warm heart-shaped pancakes with syrup, whipped cream, or your favorite toppings.
Notes
- For best results, do not overmix the batter to keep pancakes fluffy.
- Use a non-stick pan or well-greased griddle to prevent sticking.
- If you don’t have a heart-shaped mold, freeform the pancakes or use any desired shape.
- Serve with maple syrup, honey, or fresh fruit for extra flavor.
- To keep pancakes warm as you cook, place them on a baking sheet in a low oven (about 200°F) until ready to serve.
