Description

These Rotel Spiced Sausage & Cream Cheese Bites are perfect for any gathering or as a tasty snack. The combination of spicy sausage, creamy cheese, and a touch of Rotel heat wrapped in flaky crescent dough is sure to be a hit!

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound spicy breakfast sausage (or regular if preferred)
  • 1 (8-ounce) block cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (10-ounce) can Rotel (diced tomatoes with green chiles), drained well
  • 1½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 (8-ounce) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough or crescent dough sheets
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare baking sheet: Preheat oven to 375°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cook sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and cooked through. Drain excess grease and set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Prepare filling: In a large bowl, mix together cooked sausage, cream cheese, drained Rotel, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika until well combined.
  4. Assemble bites: Unroll crescent dough and cut into squares or separate triangles. Spoon filling onto each square, fold corners over, pinch to seal, and place seam-side down on the baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg.
  5. Bake: Bake for 13 to 15 minutes until golden brown and puffed. Let cool before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
