Description

Start your day with a delicious twist on a classic breakfast favorite with these Sausage-Stuffed French Toast Roll-Ups. Perfectly cooked sausage wrapped in sweet, cinnamon-infused bread, these roll-ups are a delightful combination of flavors. Easy to make and even easier to enjoy!

Ingredients

Scale

Bread and Sausage:

  • 8 slices soft white or brioche bread, crusts removed
  • 8 fully cooked breakfast sausage links

Egg Mixture:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • pinch of salt

For Cooking:

  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Roll-Ups: Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin. Place one sausage link at the end of each slice and roll up tightly.
  2. Make the Egg Mixture: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Cook the Roll-Ups: Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt the butter. Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, coating all sides, and place in the skillet seam-side down. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, turning until golden brown and crisp on all sides.
  4. Serve: Serve warm with a dusting of powdered sugar and a drizzle of maple syrup.

Notes

  • For a sweet-savory twist, use maple-flavored sausage or add a touch of brown sugar to the egg mixture.
  • These can also be made ahead and reheated in a toaster oven.
