Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 block (14 ounces) firm tofu, drained and pressed
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated carrot
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for cooking)
  • Burger buns
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato slices
  • Your favorite toppings

Instructions

  1. Crumble the tofu: In a large bowl, crumble the pressed tofu. Add rolled oats, panko breadcrumbs, grated carrot, chopped onion, minced garlic, soy sauce, tomato paste, olive oil, smoked paprika, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the mixture holds together when pressed.
  2. Form patties: Shape the mixture into 4 patties.
  3. Cook the patties: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and heated through.
  4. Assemble burgers: Toast the burger buns if desired. Serve the tofu patties on buns with lettuce, tomato slices, and your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • These patties can be made ahead and frozen; thaw before cooking.
