Ingredients
Noodles:
8 oz noodles (spaghetti, udon, or ramen);
Sauce:
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons sesame oil, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar, 1 garlic clove (minced), 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger, 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional), 2 green onions (sliced), 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds, Chopped fresh cilantro or sliced cucumber for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the noodles: Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving about 1/4 cup of the cooking water.
- Prepare the sauce: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Combine and serve: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss well to coat, adding a splash of reserved cooking water if needed to loosen the sauce. Transfer to bowls and top with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds. Garnish with fresh cilantro or cucumber if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.
