Description

Indulge in a delightful seafood feast with this Shrimp Boil recipe featuring succulent shrimp, tender potatoes, sweet corn, and savory sausage bathed in a luscious Lemon Brown Butter Sauce. This easy-to-make dish is bursting with flavor and perfect for a casual gathering or a cozy family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Shrimp Boil:

  • 1 pound large shrimp (shell-on, deveined)
  • 1/2 pound baby red potatoes
  • 2 ears corn on the cob (cut into thirds)
  • 1 smoked sausage link (sliced into 1-inch pieces)
  • 2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
  • salt and pepper to taste

Lemon Brown Butter Sauce:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 lemon (zested and juiced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)

For serving:

  • lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Prepare Shrimp Boil: Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add the baby potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes until just tender.
  2. Add the corn and sausage to the pot and cook for another 5 minutes.
  3. Finally, add the shrimp and Old Bay seasoning, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
  4. Drain the shrimp boil and transfer everything to a large serving platter.
  5. Make Lemon Brown Butter Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown and smells nutty, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon zest, lemon juice, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper.
  7. Pour the lemon brown butter sauce over the shrimp boil and toss gently to coat.
  8. Serve warm with extra lemon wedges.

Notes

  • For added flavor, serve with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
  • You can substitute smoked sausage with andouille for more heat.
