Ingredients

Scale

For the Salisbury Steaks:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the Gravy:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salisbury Steaks: In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 oval patties.
  2. Cook the Patties: Heat olive oil in a skillet, cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side until browned but not fully cooked. Set aside.
  3. Make the Gravy: In the same skillet, sauté onions and mushrooms. Add flour, then gradually whisk in beef broth, ketchup, and Dijon mustard.
  4. Simmer: Return patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 15–20 minutes until cooked through and gravy thickens.
