Ground Beef Mixture:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Sauce:

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Additional Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked elbow macaroni or rotini pasta
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese (optional)
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook beef: Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic; sauté until vegetables are softened.
  3. Make sauce: Stir in ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer until thickened. Remove from heat and mix in cooked pasta.
  4. Assemble: Pour mixture into baking dish. Top with cheddar and mozzarella. Bake for 15–20 minutes until cheese is melted.
  5. Serve: Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
