Description

Crunchy and flavorful, these Spiced Indian Chicken Nuggets are marinated in a blend of aromatic Indian spices, then coated and cooked to crispy perfection. Whether fried or baked, these nuggets make a delicious appetizer or main course.

Ingredients

Scale

Marinade:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Coating:

  • 1/2 cup chickpea flour (or all-purpose flour)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for extra crunch)
  • Oil for frying or baking

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: In a medium bowl, mix yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, cumin, coriander, turmeric, garam masala, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Add chicken pieces and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Coat the Chicken: Combine chickpea flour and breadcrumbs. Dredge each marinated chicken piece in the flour mixture until coated.
  3. To Fry: Fry nuggets in batches until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. To Bake: Bake coated nuggets at 425°F for 18–20 minutes, flipping halfway.
  5. Serve hot with chutney, ketchup, or yogurt dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, use panko breadcrumbs or air fry at 400°F for 14–16 minutes.
  • Freezer-friendly—freeze after coating and bake from frozen when needed.
