Description

A vibrant and zesty grilled chicken dish featuring a spicy honey lime marinade that perfectly balances sweetness, tanginess, and heat. Ideal for a quick weeknight meal or a flavorful outdoor barbecue.

Ingredients

Scale

Marinade Ingredients

  • 1¼ cups Italian dressing
  • ¼ cup lime juice
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 to 3 tsp red pepper flakes

Main Ingredients

  • 2.5 to 3 pounds boneless skinless chicken tenders

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together the Italian dressing, lime juice, honey, chili powder, and red pepper flakes until well combined and smooth.
  2. Marinate the chicken: Place the boneless skinless chicken tenders into a gallon size ziplock bag. Pour the prepared marinade over the chicken, seal the bag tightly, and toss or shake to ensure all pieces are evenly coated. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to overnight to allow flavors to infuse.
  3. Preheat the grill: Get your grill ready by preheating it to a medium-high temperature, about 375-400°F, for direct grilling.
  4. Grill the chicken: Remove the chicken tenders from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Place them on the hot grill and cook for approximately 10 to 12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the chicken is cooked through with a nice char.

Notes

  • Marinating overnight will deepen the flavor and tenderize the chicken further.
  • You can adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to control spice level.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken is perfectly cooked and safe to eat.
  • If you don’t have a grill, you can cook the chicken on a stovetop grill pan or broil in the oven.
  • Serve with fresh lime wedges and a side of grilled vegetables or salad for a complete meal.
