Description

These buttery Spritz Cookies are a classic holiday treat that’s perfect for any festive occasion. With a hint of almond and vanilla, these delicate cookies are easy to make and fun to decorate.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Additional:

  • Colored sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper or leave ungreased if using a cookie press.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add wet ingredients: Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
  5. Combine and press: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fill a cookie press and press cookies onto the baking sheets.
  6. Decorate and bake: Decorate with colored sprinkles if desired and bake for 7-9 minutes until edges are barely golden.
  7. Cool and enjoy: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
