Ground Beef Patties:
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (80/20 chuck)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Additional Ingredients:
- 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
- 4 brioche or hamburger buns, toasted
- 4 leaves romaine or butter lettuce
- 4 slices tomato
- 4 slices red onion
- 1/4 cup steak sauce or burger sauce
- Butter or oil for grilling
Instructions
- Mix Ground Beef: In a large bowl, gently mix the ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until just combined.
- Form Patties: Form the seasoned beef into 4 equal patties, about 3/4 inch thick, and make a slight indentation in the center of each patty.
- Grill Patties: Heat a grill over medium-high heat, oil the grates, and grill the patties for 4-5 minutes per side until desired doneness.
- Add Cheese: During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
- Toast Buns: Toast the buns on the grill until golden.
- Assemble Burgers: Spread steak sauce on the bottom bun, top with lettuce, burger patty, tomato, and red onion. Complete with the bun lid and serve.
