Marinade:

  • 2 pounds flank steak or skirt steak
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Additional Ingredients:

  • 12 small corn tortillas
  • 1/2 cup diced white onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  • Lime wedges for serving
  • Salsa or hot sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together olive oil, orange juice, lime juice, garlic, jalapeño, cilantro, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Marinate the Steak: Place steak in the marinade, refrigerate for at least 2 hours (preferably overnight).
  3. Cook the Steak: Cook steak in a hot skillet for 4 to 5 minutes per side. Let rest, then slice thinly and chop into small pieces.
  4. Warm the Tortillas: Heat tortillas in a skillet until soft.
  5. Assemble Tacos: Fill tortillas with steak, onion, cilantro, and lime. Serve with salsa or hot sauce.

  • For extra flavor, lightly char the tortillas over an open flame.
