Ingredients
Scale
Strawberries
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
Mint-Infused Cream
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 5–6 fresh mint leaves
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Garnish (Optional)
- Fresh mint sprigs
Instructions
- Warm the cream with mint: In a small saucepan, gently warm the heavy cream with the fresh mint leaves over low heat until just about to simmer, taking care not to let it boil.
- Steep the mint flavor: Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mint steep in the cream for 15-20 minutes to fully infuse the mint flavor into the cream.
- Strain and chill: Strain the mint leaves from the cream using a fine mesh sieve, then place the mint-infused cream into the refrigerator to chill for at least 1 hour, allowing it to cool completely.
- Whip the cream: Once chilled, whip the cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form, ensuring a light and airy texture.
- Prepare strawberries: Arrange the hulled and halved strawberries in serving bowls or plates evenly.
- Top with whipped cream: Spoon or pipe the mint-infused whipped cream over the strawberries for a beautiful presentation.
- Garnish and serve: Optionally garnish with fresh mint sprigs and serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Do not boil the cream to preserve its texture and avoid curdling.
- Steeping time can be adjusted slightly to intensify or mellow the mint flavor according to preference.
- Use fresh and ripe strawberries for the best flavor contrast with the creamy topping.
- For a lighter option, you can substitute half-and-half for heavy cream, though the texture will be less rich.
- The dessert is best served immediately after assembly to maintain the whipped cream’s volume and freshness.
