Description

Indulge in the creamy, fruity goodness of homemade Strawberry Ice Cream. This refreshing treat is perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day.

Ingredients

Scale

Strawberry Mixture:

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar (divided)
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice

Ice Cream Base:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare Strawberry Mixture: Combine chopped strawberries, 1/3 cup sugar, and lemon juice. Let sit for 15–20 minutes. Mash or puree to desired consistency.
  2. Make Ice Cream Base: In a separate bowl, whisk together remaining sugar, heavy cream, milk, vanilla extract, and salt until sugar dissolves. Stir in strawberry mixture.
  3. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until well chilled.
  4. Churn: Transfer mixture to ice cream maker and churn for 20–25 minutes.
  5. Freeze: Transfer to airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

  • For chunkier texture, fold in reserved chopped strawberries after churning.
  • You can use frozen strawberries, just thaw and drain them first.
