Instructions
- Prepare the Strawberries: In a medium bowl, combine sliced strawberries and 1/4 cup sugar. Let sit for 30 minutes to macerate.
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Make the Shortcakes: In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter, add milk and vanilla. Form dough, cut into shortcakes, and bake.
- Whip the Cream: Whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
