Sauce and Layers:
- 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes (with juices)
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 cups cooked white rice
- 1 medium head green cabbage (chopped)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Garnish:
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook Meat Mixture: In a large skillet, sauté onion and garlic until softened. Add beef, pork, salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano. Cook until browned. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and tomato paste. Simmer, then mix in rice.
- Layer Casserole: In a greased baking dish, layer cabbage, meat mixture, then repeat. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Top with mozzarella and bake uncovered until melted.
- Rest and Serve: Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley.
